Inspirational - High School Dropout Finds Success In Social Media

By Kollege Kidd

It’s not that big of a risk, especially if you’re young. It’s so easy to just jump into this and just trying because the worst that’s going to happen is you’ll go broke and you’ll go try and get another job.

Kanye West found commercial success with his debut album “The College Dropout.”Mazyar Kazerooni found success in the Internet business as a “high school dropout.”Kazerooni was 15-years-old when he started his first Internet company. The profits, he said, were enough to convince his parents to allow him to drop out of high school to focus on his business.“I made this website when I was 15,” Kazerooni told Voice of America. “When I’m going through high school and I’m seeing that I’m bringing in more money than any of my teachers possibly could, it kind of messes with your head.”Kazerooni, along with good friend Matt Schlicht, who is also a high school dropout, later sought employment with live video start-up “Ustream.” His performance with this company earned him praise from hip hop superstar Lil’ Wayne. The rapper even asked him to become his personal digital strategist, Voice of America reports.Kazerooni and Schlicht are currently dedicating resources to their new company “Tracks.By,” which allows artists to showcase their music, videos and tour dates on FaceBook. Shervin Pishevar, a venture capitalist, invested $500,000 into the company.Kazerooni doesn’t fond his start-up to be a big gamble at all.“It’s not that big of a risk, especially if you’re young. It’s so easy to just jump into this and just trying because the worst that’s going to happen is you’ll go broke and you’ll go try and get another job.”
